At Skillsoft, the word “expert” isn't just another adjective. Here are four main ways our experts distinguish themselves.

1. We not only read the books, we WROTE the books.
   Our online instructors quite literally write the books that others use. With more than 20 books under their belts – you can be sure that the instructors teaching your classes know their stuff.
   


2. We're certified – with lots of experience under our belts.
   With our expert instructors, you won't be learning from someone who just received their certification yesterday. Our instructors have more than 190 years of combined experience and an average of 14 years in their specific field of expertise. For example, our own advanced CCIE instructors teach the introductory Cisco classes.
   


3. We're picky.
   Not just anyone can be one of our instructors. On the rare occasion we have an instructor position open, we typically screen more than 200 applicants. We select only the best instructors, with the best teaching skills and expert understanding of their topic areas. Then we put them through a rigorous three-month training program before they teach a single class for us.
   


4. We keep up with the industry.
   We create our instructors' schedules to provide them with plenty of dedicated time to read, study and consistently update their knowledge. This keeps them passionate and focused on their areas of expertise. By engaging instructors in their own learning, as well as yours, we assure you're getting the latest from the greatest.
